The X-Blend Wing from PPC Foiling - the top of the line, making the Blend Wing even better.
Lots of prototypes have been tested to define the correct usage of X-Ply. It was quickly discovered that a canopy consisting of 100% X-Ply did not achieve the result that Sam and his team were looking for. It gave the wing not only a heavy feel, but gave it a very jerky kind of power.
Allocating the thin custom X-Ply panels directly next to the center strut provided the X-Blend with the feeling of more direct power, while maintaining its light weight and balance.
The special US sourced X-Ply is very light weight and due to its limited use it does not increase the weight of the wing compared to the standard Blend - they are virtually the same.
Another added feature of using this X-Ply material is that this Wing can be folded up & thrown into its bag without the risk of splitting and damaging the canopy!

- Leading edge & struts are made of German Polyant Dacron
- Canopy sail – Japanese Teijin cloth with inside panels done in special X-ply (can be folded and crunched!)
