People often ask us: Jimmy Lewis or PPC? The honest answer is that for wing foiling it is not either-or. Jimmy Lewis builds the boards, PPC Foiling builds the wings, and we distribute both across Europe precisely because they complement each other. Here is how the two brands fit together, and the combinations we see working on the water.

Two brands, two jobs

Jimmy Lewis is a Maui board shaper with decades of design history: rigid custom-quality boards in sandwich and carbon constructions, from prone foilboards to downwind SUPs. PPC Foiling is Sam Loader's wing brand from New Zealand: stiff-framed wings from the entry level Surge to the World Sailing approved Sonic FDS race wing. Neither brand tries to do the other's job, which is exactly why the pairing works.

Combination 1: the newcomer

A Jimmy Lewis Flying V2 in a generous volume paired with a PPC Surge or M1-L. The V2's waterplane bottom forgives touch-downs while you learn, the Surge delivers easy, balanced power at a friendly price, and the M1-L is the step up that will not need replacing for years.

Combination 2: the progressing wing foiler

A compact Flying VM with a PPC M1-X. The VM's seaplane bottom shape gets you back on foil with almost no drag after touch-downs, and the M1-X's light canopy flags out beautifully in waves. This is the combination for riders who have their gybes and want to start really riding.

Combination 3: light wind and downwind

A Twisted V with a larger Blend. The Twisted V generates lift-off speed from the smallest swell, and the Blend's light, smooth pull suits exactly those marginal days. Remember the Twisted V is a swell hunter, not a flat water paddle-up board.
